Candy team in the Cape Argus Cycle Tour

The Cape Town CCS office put together a 12-person team of cyclists for the 2013 Argus Cycle tour on 10 March 2013. The “Argus” is a 106 km timed bicycle race from the centre of Cape Town to Cape Point via False Bay, and back to Greenpoint via the Atlantic route.

It’s a gruelling race to say the least, which tests the stamina and endurance of all who take part. Cyclists from around the world come to test themselves here, in the scenic beauty of the Cape Peninsula. Conditions were good, with the temperature no higher than 30°C and the south-easter manageable.

We are very proud of Graeme Dale Kuys and Tony Cornwall who both clocked in at 3:30-ish and Theuns Zeeman who arrived 40 minutes later. Most of the team finished the race. We are very proud of everyone, cyclists and non-cyclists.
