Cape Town Cycle Tour competitors

Due to a huge mountain fire in Cape Town the preceding week, the 2015 cycle tour route was shortened considerably, essentially becoming a 47 km sprint event for those competitive enough to try it. A dominant theme of the race was to show gratitude to the hundreds of firemen who battled the wildfire that swept through the mountains of the scenic Cape Peninsula route. Firemen gathered at the roadside were cheered by the cyclists, many of whom wore red in solidarity with them.

Our Candy team, led by Graeme Dale Kuys, stuck together for the whole race, and crossed the finish line together, and in good time.
